OMP 4.0
Updates and Upgrades
May 1, 2021
It’s wild to think where we all were a year ago. OMP closed in March 2020 along with just about every other business. When we reopened in July (a miracle in itself), we essentially started over. Fast forward ten months, as we navigate through vaccinations and pandemic effects, we find ourselves with another opportunity to serve our intrepid community of music-makers. We’ve been working to improve in several areas, from the pod booking system, to our rates, and health and safety protocols.

Here are ten ways we’re updating and upgrading OMP to serve you better...
1. POD BOOKING SYSTEM
What's Changing
  • When you login to OMP Mission Control and access the calendar, you’ll start by choosing the duration of time you need (from 30 mins up to 4 hrs). Then the system will show you available dates and times.
  • You can get text and email reminders, too.
  • You’ll be able to view all your reservations and make changes right there. Access all of this info just by entering your phone number in the calendar widget.
  • No more counting how many hours you used or have left! Reservations can be paid for at OMP’s front desk with a Pod Pass (details below) or with whatever method you prefer.
What's the Same
  • The booking calendar is in the same place online as the other calendar was. Just looks a little different.
  • We can still book time for you at the front desk.
  • Bands with recurring reservations can keep rocking out without any changes.
2. BOOKING RATES
What's Changing
  • People with individual memberships (including teachers) can book pod time for $12/hr.
  • People with band memberships can book pod time for $10/hr.
What's the Same
  • All the gear, microphones, and instruments are included.
3. POD PASSES
What's Changing
  • Keeping track of how many hours you've used or have left each month is a pain. We think it’ll be much easier to have an actual plastic gift card preloaded with credits you can spend anytime you like. We’ll replenish your credits at the beginning of each month. When you use all your credits, simply pay for the time you need with your preferred payment method. And you can check your Pod Pass balance online.
  • Mars members will get Pod Passes with $18 credit (90 mins of pod time).
  • Neptune members (teachers giving music lessons at OMP) will get Pod Passes with $36 credit (6 hours of pod time).
  • Saturn members (people in bands) will get Pod Passes with credits to cover rehearsals and bonus time.
  • Venus members can upgrade anytime to get a Pod Pass - and we’ve reduced the hourly rate from $20 to $12.
What's the Same
  • Most memberships still include a monthly supply of free pod time, which members can combine and leverage anytime.
  • You can pay for guest passes and any extra time you need at the front desk, which now has an actual Square register. Way faster and easier to check in and out.
4. STAR POINTS
What's Changing
  • Every time you check-in at the desk, bring a friend, and make some noise in a pod, you’ll get Star Points that you can redeem for free pod time, free guest passes, drinks, and other fun stuff. Just our way of saying thank you for all the cool sounds you put into the world.
  • You’ll need to sign up for the Star Points program at the front desk. All you need to do is enter a mobile number or email address. The rest is auto-magic.
What's the Same
  • Open jams and community events are open to all members, and you can always bring guests. Just wear at least one mask.
5. FRONT DESK CHECK-IN
What's Changing
  • OMP is kind of like a private social club for people who make sounds (and people who support music-making). We want to make each member’s experience better, so we created membership cards for each person that we keep behind the desk. When you arrive at OMP, we will scan two things: your forehead (temp check) and your membership card. Every time you check-in, you’ll get Star Points which you can redeem for time and other fun stuff.
What's the Same
  • We love to see you. Drop in anytime you want. Just wear at least one mask.
6. BAND MEMBERSHIPS
What's Changing
  • New rates for bands on flex schedules (Saturn Basic: $18/person/mo), bands that practice every other week on a regular day and time (Saturn Extra: $144/group/mo), and bands that practice every week on a regular day and time (Saturn Super: $216/group/mo). Note: for bands already subscribed to OMP 3.0 rates, you can postpone your switch until January 2022.
  • Band members get Pod Passes they can use for band practices or other personal pod time.
What's the Same
  • We can consolidate membership on one monthly bill, or each player can manage their own membership subscriptions. It’s up to you.
7. VENUS MEMBERSHIPS
What's Changing
  • Since this is our basic plan designed for people who join a jam session a couple of times per month, this plan does not include free pod time anymore. If you wanna reserve more pod time, then you can just pay for time as you need it ($12/hr) or upgrade to a Mars plan to get a monthly Pod Pass.
  • Pod time rate reduced to $12/hr (was $20/hr).
What's the Same
  • Still $10/mo.
  • We’re still offering discounts for players who need them for whatever reason.
  • Access to all the jams and all the instruments.
  • No sign-up or cancellation fees. Pause and restart anytime.
8. MARS MEMBERSHIPS
What's Changing
  • Pod time rate increased slightly from $10/hr to $12/hr.
  • Membership includes a Pod Pass with $18 credit (90 mins) replenished each month.
What's the Same
  • Still $20/mo.
  • We’re still offering discounts for players who need them for whatever reason.
  • Access to all the jams and all the instruments.
  • No sign-up or cancellation fees. Pause and restart anytime.
9. NEPTUNE MEMBERSHIPS
What's Changing
  • Pod time rate is $6/hr.
  • Membership includes a Pod Pass with $36 credit (6 hours) replenished each month.
What's the Same
  • Still $30/mo.
  • We’re still offering discounts for teachers who need them for whatever reason.
  • Students are free.
  • Access to all the jams and all the instruments.
  • No sign-up or cancellation fees. Pause and restart anytime.
10. HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
What's Changing
  • We clean pods and surfaces once per day (aligned with updated CDC guidelines).
What's the Same
  • Wear at least one mask (only exceptions are with permission from staff).
  • 99.4 temperature or less for entry.
  • Air purifiers in each pod.
  • Microphones and mic stands are thoroughly cleaned after each use.
